Products and Services

Orchard Media Services has broadcast clients all over the country.  We have updated and completed nearly 300 Public Inspection files in more than 10 states.  Additionally, we continue our education regarding FCC mandated requirements and consider ourselves to be “the experts in FCC compliance matters” for broadcasters.  Every agreement is customized to the station or groups specific needs.  We are service oriented and eager to help you with this very important, yet often neglected aspect of broadcast licensing.

We appreciate the duties of your job, and recognize that your Public File, Political File, other FCC Compliance matters such as station logs, EAS, and other Technical mandates are hard to understand and keep up.

Orchard Media Services can update and complete your station(s) Public Files, and train your staff so that they will understand and be able to keep the files current until your next station license renewal or sale.

Orchard Media Services will give you the confidence that when you file your application for renewal, or sell, that the FCC requirement of your Public File and other mandated compliance issues are in suitable condition for your signature of declaration on documents filed with the FCC.

Top 10 Lame Excuses for Bad Public Files.

10) "We're too busy with   sales and collections.  The owners want results."

9) "I thought all that stuff was deregulated."

8) "We're gamblers.  If we end up getting fined…it's just the cost of doing business."

7) "I've been in Radio for years, the only "Public" we ever get is concert ticket winners."

6) "Our engineer handles all that stuff.  I'm sure he's on top of it."

5) "Our receptionist handles all that stuff.  I'm sure she's on top of it."

4) "Our program director handles all that stuff.  I'm sure he's on top of it."

3) "File? My secretary is always behind on her filing, otherwise she does a great job."

2) "The previous owners must have taken it-along with two CD players."

And the number one lame excuse…

 1)       "WHAT'S A PUBLIC INSPECTION FILE?"

  BEWARE

You can’t just think about your Public Inspection file around your license renewal Cycle every eight (8) years.  You need to have a Compliance Plan, just as you must have a business plan.  The Federal Communications Commission could fine your Radio or Television Station up to $10,000 for not having an accurate and orderly Public File.  The fine for missing documents is $3,500.

Broadcast Corporations all over the U.S. have adopted the benefits of outsourcing this important work rather than absorb the expense and responsibility of hiring and attempting to train permanent employees.
